This is serious and if you are using LRc and a Synology NAS as a backup
location, you must read this and understand it.
Yes, your images are safe, but if you used Synology sw to copy your catalog
to your NAS, you may not have it all copied as you think.
This is at least a Windows issue. I do not know if it also applies to Macs
I use Synology Drive Server to copy from my computer ( where the catalog is
saved) to my NAS. I have it setup to copy each night. DITTO FROM MY NAS
to my external backup usb hdd using Hyperbackup.
What I noted was that the FOUR catalog files that are needed to use LRc ARE
NOT ALL COPIED. Only the *.lrcat file is copied. You need THREE other
files.
I will not explain the problem as it will cause most users to snore.
There is only two fixes: one is much too complicated and technical. The
other is a PITA, but easy: USE THE COPY COMMAND TO COPY THE MISSING THREE
FILES.
The only time you will need to know this is when your system goes nuts and
you NEED fresh LRc catalog.
