The adult tigers are just too heavy to climb trees - cubs often do when
playing! However, I have seen tigresses chasing leopards go 5-7 metres up a
tree trunk through sheer momentum, but when they stall, they just fall off!
A male tiger is so massive that even this is impossible.

Cats, however, have taught leopards to climb trees extremely efficiently -
their neck muscles are so strong that they can carry prey of 100-125kg,
roughly equal or slightly more than their own weight, vertically up a tree
for safekeeping! They are acrobatically agile on trees, which is their safe
refuge from bigger carnivores:

Lionesses frequently climb trees in East Africa - they are lighter than
tigresses so manage to do it:
