Me too. I lived near Amsterdam in the early 2000s and felt almost obliged to go to the exhibition in Oude Kerk every year. I finally stopped because I was fed up with the negativity. It is ambulance chasing disguised as photography.

I much prefer some of the national “press photo of the year” exhibitions, like Denmarks “Årets Pressefoto” which tend to focus much more on everyday life.
