This reminds me of one of my favourite early photos:
https://www.greatpix.eu/Other/Stuff-from-the-20th-century/i-WPCbWs2/A
This was taken when I lived in Gainesville, FL, between 1984 and 1987, at a high school basketball game. The center going up trying to block the shot is my youngest cousin Dan (today an anaesthesiologist in Oakland, CA). It was pure dumb luck that the opposing player had the same number as Dan.
This was during my pre-Leica days, most likely the photo was shot with a Pentax ME or Pentax Super Program SLR.
Cheers,
Nathan

He was so good that when he was getting ready to throw a ball through the hoop, he often did tricks like bouncing it between his legs, or shooting from behind his back, or bouncing it off his head, or spinning it on the end of his finger. He didn't just make great hoop shots. He made great hoop shots after doing extra things with the ball, just for fun.

I don't think it would be good for a camera for the photographer to dribble it between his legs before shooting a picture behind his own back, but if it could work, I'm sure Alan Magayne-Roshak could do it.
