Thanks again Don, I will have no problem using a background paper and will try white paper as well as black. In the books on darkroom work published by Ralph Gibson "Lustrum Publishing" in the 50's he talks about the methods of great photographers, Eugne Smith used his wife's stockings for dodging work, Emmet Gowin made a map with different intensities of red ink that corresponded to the areas of his negatives, true craftsmen of other times, in the 60's E. Smith lamented that the quality of the papers was not the same as before.... what would he say now!
