[Leica] Baptising my granddaughter

[Brian Reid]

My daughter Vanessa and her husband Alex have tried several times to get
their daughter Nora Margaret Reid-Sarch baptized, but all previous
attempts were thwarted by Covid. Today, a bit after Nora's 3rd birthday,
it all worked out. Fr Aaron Kennedy baptised her in St Mary Battersea,
in the diocese of Southwark. It is the same church in which my
grandfather Sydney Reid was baptised in 1887.

Battersea is on the Thames in southwest London. St Mary is a 10 minute
walk along the river from my daughter's flat. There has been a church
building on that site for a thousand years; the current structure dates
to the late 18th century.
