Did you try to plug the dead monitor into a laptop or some other pc as a 
solo screen?

Computer problems are the last thing you need when you're trying to take 
it easy and heal up. Then again, it could be the tech gods sending you a 
coded message - "Rest up from that keyboard, Tina!"
