Our first stop on our fall trip was Silver Falls State Park in Oregon. It is called the gem of Oregon’s state park. There is an 8 mile loop trail that passes 10 waterfalls, 4 of which you an walk behind. This year was a challenge. There is the large Beachie fire that has burned right up to the park boundary to the east, and is still raging. There was some smoke that gave an interesting tint to the colors. And it has been quite dry, so there is not much water in the falls and the trees are dropping many of their leaves before turning color. Even so, it was a great first stop, and the first time I have used the Q2 in the wild. Here are a few shots of the first waterfall you come to if you start your hike by the lodge area. It is called South Falls.

View the LARGE. The Q2 can take it.
