Greetings to all. Earlier this week one of our fellow LUGgers posted a
collection that implied a rather run down village. I thought about his
perspective and am responding with a pair of images that imply bad times in
Austin. This first image is what would have been called a vagabond when I
was young was walking past a strip center that had vacated to build a
modern grocery store. The kindly folks in Austins planning department just
couldn't see their way to allowing a new larger grocery store across the
street from the existing one:

Just a few steps north of the previous image we can see distancing and the
strong use of mass transit in Austin. In fairness, this stop was once
widely used when offices were open downtown:

Now for a bit of a smile. This is the second windshield reflector I have
seen like this; interesting that the original cast is preferred:

The next two are pretty typical street scenes in Austin. This first image
conveys a lot about single women and their ability to multitask:

Couples will be couples:

Another statement about Austin life. Boots, dogs, significant others and
the ubiquitous phone:

So, een after talking to this poll helper I am not sure what is going on.
She is 50 meters from the entrance to the polling place around a corner.
There are chairs out of frame that would bring her up to eye level. Anyway:

Last for today; at least in Texas don't let folks talk about poll
suppression or dangers of voting in person. This scene was typical, a
person at the door controlling the number of people to the available voting
stations. There are finger cots and sanitiser just inside, masks are
required, and you can vote at any voting place in your county with a decent
web page with reasonably accurate wait times for all the polling places in
the county:

All the best.
