[Leica] Whereas I found this article terrifying

Exactly. That is why I have been comparing it to the flu in that sense and
hence my flu comments earlier that did not go over well as I was duly
reprimanded. Most cases of flu are not diagnosed. People just say they
have the flu and go on with getting better. The powers that be do make
estimates of total flu cases and use that to predict mortality rates. Not
so with Cvoid 19. What we are seeing as diagnosed is just the tip of the
ice burg, but as Jayanand says, that is good news. The mortality rate is
way lower than they are computing because they have no idea how may
asymptomatic or mild symptomatic cases there really are. And, of course,
now they say they will only test those who are going to the hospital instead
of trying to get a good picture of what is going on out there. Someone
thinks that if we know we will be terrified. I think if we know we can put
it in perspective.
Of course it is just common sense to take all sensible precautions, but no
need to be terrified. I am sheltering in place as much as possible. Have
food, water, entertainment and a loving wife. What more do I need? (Until
I run out of milk. I DO need milk! I have risked my life in the past for
milk and will undoubtedly do it again.)

If that is true, all the means is that the fatality rate is way lower than
it is being reported to be, so, again, why get terrified?
