Please don’t use rice!!!!!  Rice  dust will get into every crevice of the
camera.  Kathy put her drowned iPhone in rice, and there had been no water
damage, but the rice dust rendered the charging port almost defunct.  We
finally got it cleaned out, but it still has issues.
