These Sandisk Extreme Pro ( not Plus as I originally wrote...) cards
work just fine. Regardless of what Leica said in 2009. I have an M9
and an MM ( to be clear, the CCD Monochrome camera) and the cards work
in both. Even the 128GB cards. ( I actually tried a 512GB card, and
that worked as well.... but I am not sure the camera could "reach" all
512GB....)
In the early days of SD cards, there really was no standardization in
specs, and the camera makers incorrectly wrote SW to access the cards in
specific ways. So certain cards worked in some cameras and not others.
You can try to find new cards that meet the published specs of the MM or
you can take my experience and use the Extreme Pro cards, and order then
on Amazon for $20 each and see what happens......
The 32GB card is $13...

170MBPS read speed.....
I have both and use them in my cameras. They work just fine.
Using a phrase from Ted... KISS.
BTW, you DID ask what works..... and these work.
A little EE background....
The SD card only exists for cards with sizes up to 4GB ( the original
spec, and the most problematic from a camera users perspective)
The SDHC Card exists up to 32GB ( Card Spec issued in 2006)
The SDXC Card exists up to 1TB. (Card Spec issued in 2009)
These limitations are both physical ( the internal physical wiring and
and connections) as well as SW ( what and how the camera maker designed
the camera to operate) to access the card.....
BUT you do not know what the maximum capacity a certain camera can take
because the SW may or may not "reach" further than the stated spec.......
You can put a 1TB card in your MM, but the camera MAY only reach 32Gb of
data..... and you will not know until you try it.......
Note that only the words tell you what the card is... SD or SDXC or
SDHC.... they all look the same.......
I could write a lot more, but I am pretty sure everyone has now fallen
asleep.....
