Greetings to all. While we are all allegedly under quarantine I find
peoples response to be interesting. We went to our favorite local BBQ
emporium for Easter brisket; while my wife waited in line I of course took
pictures. This first image is the workers cutting the brisket into
whatever the customer had ordered. I don't think they are separated and it
doesn't appear that they are wearing masks:

This is the pick up area where most people are observing distancing:

This woman was being careful while she walked her dog. You can see the
oxygen tube over her ear. She was behind a fence and in a corner where
contact would be hard:

This woman was enjoying a brief sunny period by setting up in the local
elementary school yard: all schools are closed probably until the new
school year:

Last for today, some things never change. When there is spare time the
list comes out of things to do around the house:

Another interesting point is that the mortality in my local government unit
is 9 currently and Texas with 40 million is I believe 246. Houston and
Dallas were late to quarantine whereas Austin and San Antonio were very
early. Most of the deaths in Texas have been in Houston area followed by
the Dallas area interestingly the Fort Worth area not so much.(Dallas and
Fort Worth would be one city but for accidents of history). The curves
have been very flat for this week. It appears that the open spaces of
Texas have been helpful for mortality.
My point is that there will be many PhD's granted for research into why
some places are so heavily affected by this new disease and others not
nearly so hard. Italy vs Germany, India vs China, the Swedish experiment,
Great Britain vs France. Many, many factors to work out from climate,
social norms, quality of health care, family structure, initial health
conditions, density and mass transit norms are all areas that will be
looked at for the next novel disease.
All the best.
