Thanks Don, Ric, Peter, Jim, and Philippe. And Philippe, I realise - to
mangle Boheme - my tiny shots are "frozen", but as I haven't been doing
proper motor racing shots since the 70s with my old Spotmatic, I need a
bit of practice panning. I intend doing so asap with various lenses at
the side of some motorway. My panning technique may remain hit and miss,
but it'll certainly freak out some guilty motorists :-)

Peter, I'll make it my business to find out if the Lotus 47 is original
or just a recent replica at the next meeting, and let you know.

Hence my prompt for you next time to at least try to get the « character » of the machines out. Else, they might as well be standing still and idle on a car-park, just as my mother-in-law’s gravy ;-)

The weather was extremely unpredictable and went from sunny to torrential downpour and back again at regular intervals. The Mallock is only fitted with an ohv 1.6 litre Holbay modifed Ford and lacks grunt on the straights, but is competitive in the twiddly bits. Unfortunately, we also had engine issues - overheating ignition analyser - which restricted revs to 4,000 rpm causing him to drop down the field from second place on the grid, and made the interval between races somewhat fraught. I took some pictures anyway and here's 38 of them - some repetitive, of course :-)

I have to get a decent (for daylight) autofocus Sony fit zoom, especially as I'm promised a gilet jaune with enhanced circuit positioning as a member of the media next time out.
