Hi Jim,

the Takumar wins hands down in this test.

However, I attribute the softness of the Oly to the much too low shutter speed used then.

I have very good memories of this lens (mine was the first version) even though it was massive and heavy, and the AF slow and often disappointing. But the glass was very good to excellent.

Keep trying, I’m confident you’ll squeeze the maximum out of it :-)

e.g. This one was shot handheld, no IOS nor IBIS, and nice colours.

Perhaps more convincing as to its flare resistance

Also offers sharpness and contrast when needed
