those brass screws are riding better than most executives!

the locos at various locatipons throughout a long train (it’s called distributed power)  is said to make for a smoother handling, more fuel efficient train—here we ususally see it on very long coal trains. The locos are all controlled by  the lead engine using computers linked by radio or wired connections
