[Leica] Photo-editing software recommendations?

The current Mac offering, "Photos", is an entirely different product. My 
brother Glenn was a designer and chief engineer of iPhoto, but he left 
Apple some years ago and wasn't there to defend his system against the 
upstart "Photos". Big companies are full of intrigue.
