Hi Howard,
Another suggestion! I'd have a couple of other tele lenses and a wide just
in case. They can be in your travel bag behind you on the floor in case you
find you may need them.
Good luck on a great shoot from the air! Trusting excellent clear day.
You'll find it great fun and wishing you all great exposures!!!!!!!!
Any other questions drop me a line any time.
cheers,
ted grant O.C.

Hi Howard,
Well first and foremost if you are the only passenger? Then you sit beside
the pilot and have the door taken off before take off so you have full view
of the open land? mountains, seashore, boats and sea critters. Also best for
communicating with the pilot to tell him/her? where to go for best angles.
tHE WORST PART ABOUT THIS POSITION IS THE WING strut" THAT MY GET IN THE
ROAD! :-( If the pilot has had previous aerial photo flights it is most
helpful. Never mind opening the window as it's a pain in the ass simply
because you require every possible inch of space for your picture angles
NOW!! If it's a helicopter even better. :-)
READY? Sit on the floor door off right hand side legs hanging outside,
safety straps on obviously before take off! My favourite shoot position!!!!
Now there isn't anything between you, camera and water or sea shore! JUST
AIR!! You just click away to your hearts delight.
AT LEAST 2 CAMERAS AROUND YOUR NECK!
Well in all my years shooting in this fashion one camera had a medium tele,
never a w/a because the pilot can back-off giving a wider view! And the
second camera a w/zoom.
I would think the pilots out of WHISTLER WILL BE QUITE READY TO MOVE
WHEREVER YOU REQUIRE! Just think shooting pictures and nothing about sitting
on the floor and legs hanging out side!
Good luck and have a great shoot.
cheers,
Dr.ted grant O.C.
