[Leica] How do folks manage catalogs in Lightroom?

I have two catalogs. One is Archival which includes everything except this
year. The other is Current which is what I've taken this year. The
Archival catalog is huge and so a little slower. That doesn't usually
matter since I'm using that mainly for searching and posting what has
already been edited. The Current catalog is very small and fast which is
good because it's what I'm working on and editing now.

I've read several books on LR cataloging and how to manage it and this is
the system I use. It works.

Keywords are always a good thing ;-)
