Under the tools sub menu(the gear) under the first setting in MF assist;
turn that on.  You should also program one of your three custom function
buttons to turn it on on command; I use the top button by the shutter
release C1.  You will find those under the 6th chapter of the tools menu
under Custom Key Settings.
