We were in Austin taking a trip to one of the state parks when I saw this
scene.

Just a bit of history, because Texas came into the U.S. as a country there
is almost no national land as it was all state owned. Hence, a lot of
wonderful state parks just about everywhere in the state. Another point;
because Texas was formerly a Spanish land the "king" owned the land around
the sea shore and major water ways. This was brought forward largely
intact when Texas became a country. So, a lot of coastline and borders to
waterways is still state owned and protected in parks.
