[Don Dory]

Good morning for most and afternoon for the rest, today's post will  be
rather long as the Peachtree Road Race entertained more than 60,000
participants.  If you prefer start at the first link and just move forward
in the gallery.

We will start with the LUG obligatory cell phone shot.  This was taken at
the beginning of the race just as the wheel chair racers had rolled past:

With the exception of the serious runners the race is a bit of a street
party.  For the most part very friendly:

A frequent sight is the hydration station where runners can keep running
by.  As a note this was taken with a Russian Helios 85mm 1.5 I purchased
from a lugger many years ago:

Costumes were widely seen, for the ladies Wonder Woman was popular:

Sideline distractions were common:

This is America so political discourse was evident:

However, for the most part patriotism was most on display:

Distractions were not just on the sidelines.  This is a play on the local
mass transit:

I found this girl who had been left alone finding entertainment where
millennia of children have, drawing with a found rock:

I will end with what you won't see in most accounts of the USA.  For the
most part people support the concept of the country and support each
other.  This elderly woman was in a tent labeled Team Beverly and had wide
support:
