Yes, that classic look, decades ago we souped one stop under Tri-x
(E.I 800) in D76 1:1 all the time and tacked on 50% more dev time...
it was the "Go To" thing for any sort of Phojo work. A little extra
punch (contrast) with a bit of shadow detail loss, (no biggy for that
sort of work).  Enjoying your film images as well as Jim's.
