[Leica] Uploading to LUG Gallery problems

Hi, Aram.  I'm still using Windows 7 Professional. The Upload Applet
stopped working with Chrome when Chrome disallowed Java. For another
year or two, I was able to use IE 11, but on at least two occasions, a
new Windows security warning forced me to open yet another security
exception to allow the applet to run.  Eventually, it completely stopped
working altogether. Firefox won't run it, either.  I believe the issue
is that Java is  now considered insecure, as are many formerly common
practices in Java programming.   There's also the competition between
the companies that created the various Web programming languages as to
who will be top dog.  Perhaps the app could be re-written, but I have
not been able to find any evidence that anyone has. Considering that
several major Web browsers have dumped Java, why would anyone bother?

I've tried some of the other upload tabs, without success.  They are
either obsolete or require a level of specific knowledge that I do not
possess. So I basically gave up and only use the LUG gallery for small
uploads. Flickr is my main photo display site these days.

Perhaps Brian can shed some light on the situation?
