Hi Bob,
Well Bob that's the sort of a dedicated sport photojournalist went through
for several months before leaving for the Olympic's otherwise after the
first day or two you were just beat from carrying gear, on and off buses,
editing film every day and the long hours of some days between travelling
from Press Centre to game site you could be on the road 16 hours day after
day.
Covering the games certainly isn't shooting a "FRIDAY FLOWER" it's
generally in the 16 hours a day moving about, carrying gear and hopefully
you'll be able to capture a successful shooting position where there are a
couple hundred guys and gals fighting for one at a finishline of a race!.
:-(
And doing it for around 3 weeks. But what the heck if you didn't love being
involved you could always stay home and shoot those crappy weddings every
weekend!!! :-)
cheers,
Dr. ted grant O.C.

Although this may be behind a paywall if you can read it I think it is
interesting and it certainly gives us more appreciation of what Senior
Member Prof. Dr. Ted OC went through back in the day:
