[Leica] OT -- Billingham Eventer

Yes I do think from a quality stand point having made fishing bags worked for it but also the fact they did not scream "photography" was a plus.
If you tried making photos of fish though they'd all swim away really fast for some reason.
Cows though no problem. Sheep no.
Now many of their bags like the Hadley pros have a non-photo gear more generic look but others really could be nothing else but photo bags.
And photographers and photography is often marginalized in these trying times.
Less so as of late as photography one of those things done with a cell phone. And anything relating in any way even indirectly with cell phones is very positive now.

Hi Mark,I believe that Billingham did originally make fishing bags, and the one I bought nearly 40 years ago does look like a fishing bag with an insert made of closed cell foam.cheers,Frank D.

Could be the Eventer is an old style and they've learned a lot since. They also sell the original Billingham at an oddly jacked up price. It's nice it looks more like a fishing or duffel bag and less like a camera bag which is a big plus for me. But the 555 is the modern version of that and where I'd like to go. Not only can you put your camera in it but your laundry and a spare jacket and pants and a few spare books.

Ok, Team, my last bag question (and, unless you have a Billingham Eventer, or have used one, please refrain):

I like the Eventer, too. It is, apparently, the Noctilux of camera bags. Boy howdy is it more tan twice the price of a Hadley Pro. Question: assuming you have one, other than the increased cost of materials, (love the leather bottom), is it worth it? Also, are the inerds the same as the Pro?

I’ve diligently searched for a video review of this bag. Or, photos of the bag. Or, just a plain old review. Really, anything about the Eventer. Seems like people are mum on it. Perhaps it is because folks know they can just buy a Hadley Pro.

        Just a last ditch query.

        Thanks!
