All the fiddling around with stopping down before you get the shot is way more doable when you're on a tripod.
Tripods make everything more easy and doable.

Fo those interested in the X1D body....... and to use C or CF or F lenses......

All Hasselblad V mount ( as in 500CM lenses or 200 Series lenses) lenses will work with the adapter. However, there is NO mechanical connection from the lens to the body. Which means you will use the X1D shutter and the F-Stop from the lens.

Lens operation: Similar to using non native lenses on a Sony body:
Open shuttter on lens. ( CF lenses. F Lenses do not have shutters!)
Set Lens to widest F stop....
        Focus
        Set Lens to working F-Stop
        Take picture
        reset Lens to fully open....

There is a bit of a cheat using CF lenses.... you can set working aperture then open the lens to focus by using the manual full open linkage on the lens. This will make a a faster, non-thinking use.

There is also a limitation..... The sensor in the X1D apparentoly, in this use, has a 300ms ( 1/3 of a second) scan rate of the sensor..... so you will experieence the effect of distortion of moving objects ( trains passing, bicycle passing, etc.). Best used for non moving subjects.
