[Leica] Visiting the Avro Lancaster at the Warplane Museum in Hamilton, Ontario

Morning Luggers,

My half brother Frank was a Lancaster pilot in the Canadian 405 squadron during WWII. Because of this connection we were able to have a
private visit to the Lancaster located at the Canadian Warplane Museum in Hamilton Ontario. The Senior Lancaster Pilot, Leon Evans, took us through the plane and then flew it in the afternoon for the second flight of the day. This aircraft is one of two Lancasters still flying in the world. The other one is stationed in Oxford England.

The first picture is of my old friend Fred Fox, who had a career with CBC TV and Sony, and came along as our videographer with daughter Anna and grandkids Olive and Aubrey in from of the Lanc. We were making memories for the grandchildren. Other photos follow - click left.

All photos were taken with either the Fuji X100F or the XT 2 with the 55 - 200 zoom. The roar of the Lanc RR Merlin engines is very impressive. The sound of 100 of these aircraft flying into Europe on a bombing mission must have struck terror on the ground.
