[Leica] Quick question for any M5 shooters

Thanks, Don. Im not quite sure this is really the answer. The problem is that the M5 shoe is even further off axis, to the right with the camera in shooting position, than the shoe is on the other Ms. This means that even with the intentionally off-center finder mounts, the finder sits well to the right of the center of the lens mount. I’m guessing that one has two options - practice guesstimating, which, with a 21, is hardly a sin, or get out the Blacktape and tape the finder in to the proper position, or as close to it as is possible,

Not strictly the same, but the Leica 21 finder does show more than a 21
does on my M6. Put your camera on a tripod in a position that is
replicable. Shoot your frame(s). Develop then compare what the frame
shows versus the finder, use judicious amounts of tape tape to mask the
finder until it matches. Whether you use a physician prescribed black tape
is up to you. This also works for 18, 15, and 12mm finders.
