To extend the conversation about pollen; large parts of the southern US are
ideally suited to pine trees and other connifers.  With an appropriate
amount of rainfall the trees go into an extreme reproductive cycle.  The
atmosphere takes on a yellow tinge and you can watch the pollen collect on
surfaces as you watch.  Atmospheric pollen counts reach well over 4000 ppm.
