Thanks for your comments, Mark. After using the lens alone, I added the
matched extender today, to see how that worked out. It does get one
closer, with a larger subject image, but the focusing range is very,
very limited. I now would advise using the extender only with a
tripod. The 60mm macro lens alone will focus from infinity down to 1:1,
which is adequate, and is much better for a hand held system.
