You seem to be using a completely different focal length and much faster shutter speed with the SL....

I was practicing manual focusing with the M240 and edited lots of photos of
the hummingbirds at my feeders.  Then I got out the SL.   None of my
manually focused photos equal the auto-focus of the SL!!
