You have probably heard about or read about yesterday's announcement of 
a "massive breach" of credit bureau data by bad people. if you haven't, see

I am sending this email to urge you to take no action, to do nothing, to 
not follow any instructions you might receive for "protecting yourself". 
There is a blizzard of scams out there (including one actually run by 
Equifax!) and the only way to protect yourself is to trust none of them, 
at least for now.
