[Leica] M8 failure in snow

Mainly for Tina Manley,  

As far as I can tell the battery was doing just fine. It was just around freezing and I had only been out shooting for perhaps ten minutes. Since the shutter only shoots as you release the shutter button. I suspect now that the shutter is just wearing out. Any recommendations for a US based repair? I don’t really want to send it to Germany.
