[Leica] noct .95 ?

People think using a Noct is an f 1 and be there kind of thing.
It’s not because of the many situations in which the camera won’t allow you to shoot at f1. As its just too bright the shutter speed on an M6 only went to 1/1000 of second with its cloth shutter. If it went as fast as the shutters do day it would be a different ball game as it’s a many stop difference between 8000th and 1000th. It’s as big of a gap as f 5.6 to f16. Three stops.
So, I did a “f 1000th of a second and be there” kind of workflow/mindset when I used my Noctilux.
And if I could get the lens to open to f1 so much the better. When I shot at f 2.8 or 8 or 16 nobody died.
The fact that I shot mainly mainly fast films was part of the culprit. Though I did shoot plenty of Kodachrome 64 with it. But that’s slide film.
But as I’ve said here I can only go so far with the wide open always shooting mindset. Plenty of shots are not meant to look like that deep focas is what many shots need.

Hi Frank,
There is a learning curve to figure out what looks best with the Nocti, distance from camera, busyness of background, light or lack of light...
Thanks!
