I’d have stopped down a couple just to make sure I nailed the focus as in give me a tiny bit more leeway.
Also, it tends to be recommended but in the macro shooting you get practically nothing in focused anyway unless you go to f11, 16 or 22 and with those you need a flash on a cord. Even though many people hate flashed if they get into macro big time they get over it.
Also the shutter speed rule does not hold in macro. Shooting at 135th with a 135mm lens close in is not really going to do it. Which means you’re shooting open more than you’d like to get those higher shutter speeds.
But hand held no flash I get to stop down a bit as my camera goes up to iso 125,000 without thinking twice about it.
I shoot f8 when its o dark hundred out there.
