Jim, a tutorial may be helpful of course

But trying and experimenting by yourself is probably the best way to go as 

i. 	LR is extremely intuitive

ii 	you may find other routes than the « prescribed » ones, and that match your style, taste, etc better

Plus, I DO believe we learn by mistakes, or am I mistaken on that too?
