[Leica] The "problem" with the M9

Hi Lluis and CREW,
I realize I quite often have an entirely different re-action to many of you. But it occurs due to my career and the types of documentary assignments I worked on and volume of Leica gear I owned and used.
In some cases weeks, day after day covering the, shall we say. "WHEAT HARVESTING ON THE GREAT PRARIES OF WESTERN CANADA! All B&W and the next year same time covering every aspect again, shooting only Kodachrome 35mm. 100s of rolls during 4 to 6 weeks! Day after day! Not just "Friday flowers!" At least a 20 year time period during the.50's to mid-seventies. Mine was primarily as a photojournalist and I didn't have to worry about print making on many of these as much of the printing was done by the professional darkroom staff of the National Film Board of Canada.
However I did have to ID locations & captions for the hundreds of prints selected by various Photo-editors for different projects.
And as many of you know I've never been a "techie photog" once again illustrating my "GREAT SPIRIT" has looked after me all these years! :-)
Damn I must say, I have been one of the very lucky photogs I know!
cheers,
Dr. Ted Grant C.M. O.C.

Hi Ted,

I think remember the last time I took seriously two cameras, one in B&W and one in color was in my trip to NYC in 2005, as a conclusion I can say that I have shoot about 8 B&W films and just one or maybe two in color…, of course as you say, the life moment is what really count, my choice is normally B&W.

Cheers
Lluis

I rarely think about colour or B&W as we did in the days of film. 2 OR MORE CAMEARS HANGING ON THE BODY WERE ALMOST MANDATORY. Other than when it was an all B&W film documentary or shooting only in colour as that was all the client wanted.

> Me? I just throw the card, well sorry? I push the card into the camera and off I go having a great time without a thought other than capturing a "cool image!"
> And when I pop a digital colour image or from film days and out comes a 13X19 B&W drop dead gorgeous print? I kinda look at it?, "SMILE!" And whisper to myself? "DAMN YER GOOD!" :-) Naw not me, it's the machine! :-) :-)
> Oh sure sometimes you have an absolutely crappy print, but that's just life! So get over it and don't spend 2 or 3 hours computer fiddling it!
