[Leica] Northern Lights Trip

I haven’t taken photographs of northern lights in over 30 years, but...

I’d suggest fast wide angle lenses. Depending on where you will be, I’d
suggest having a really wide one.  Even a fisheye.

With the cold temperature, the battery capacity is reduced. Have more
batteries than you think you may need. And keep the spare warm in your
inside pocket.

A tripod is certainly a necessity, as well. I don’t know about SL, but a
way to trip the shutter without touching the camera is also necessary. A
spare body, too. SL for video and M for stills, perhaps. The lights can
move across the sky quickly. It’s never static.

And always have room for some akevitt. Skål!
