I don’t think the barn is that old; its a modern steel building. I think
1930 is when the family began farming the land, and Allen Lomont was the
founder of the family’s farm back then.
A lot of farms around here have the date the family began farming and the
name of the founder on their barns. Often these are old barns but I see
many new barns that continue the tradition.
