[Leica] Help with Epson Artisan 50

There¹s no mechanism in the cartridge. The chip on it does two things. It
keeps track of how much ink is used so that Epson¹s software can tell you
that it is time to replace the cartridge, and it prevents people from
refilling the cartridge to avoid paying Epson¹s criminally high ink
prices. A filled cartridge will still show as Œempty¹ and the printer will
refuse to use it, thanks to the chip. There are companies that sell
chip-resetters to circumvent this.
