[Leica] IMGs: Railway stuff

I went to an auction viewing yesterday on the Dublin/Wicklow border out
at Woodbrook Golf Club which has been home to the Irish Open in the
past. The auction was held in the old Opera House at Laurel Park where
Nellie Melba once graced the stage. Both the golf club and the auction
rooms are adjuncts to Woodbrook House - an 1820s mansion built by the
Cochrane family who made their money in soft drinks.

Across the large car park, I noticed some odd equipment parked. It
turned out to be railway maintenance machinery, as Woodbrook Golf Club
is bisected by train tracks, and has its own special - but disused -
siding that enabled the hordes of golf spectators to attend the large
golf tournaments that were once held there. Sadly, Woodbrook has also
become a victim of technology as the increased yardages of modern
equipment, and balls, have made the place a lesser challenge, and its
restricted footprint makes it difficult to expand, so major Irish
tournaments have moved on to other longer courses.

Anyway for the railway enthusiasts, here are six images taken with Sony
A7II and a Zuiko 55/1.2 starting with this link and then click to the
right. BTW Ireland has a wider gauge width than the US or Europe at 5
foot 3 inches (160 cm), so as a result our railway carriages are wider
and less cramped.
