[Leica] How did 50mm become the "normal" lens for 35mm cameras?

Unless you're shooting transparency 35mm for projection (who does that
anymore?) there is no normal lens.

A few old souls compose in camera, I suppose, and never show a cropped
image, but their work certainly doesn't pass under the nose of a photo
editor or art director.

The whole point of what we do is
​try to ​
show others what we see
​.

We choose a shooting  lens for various qualities, but adherence to how the
eye works is not really one.

I don't think ever, anymore.
