My M9 is in NJ right now and I'll report on the fix once it's done. Timing etc.
I received a telephone call early morning on Wed from the service lady who was very nice and talked about the camera and testing for repair.
I believe it's sensor corrosion from the photos I sent in.
Hoping for the best.
