The previous message with the same title contained an error. The second picture did not come through. Here is what I hope is the right version. Incidentally, when shooting B&W I no longer use a darkroom. I simply develop the negatives and scan them. Then use an ink jet printer. Its much less messy.

Jim,
I fully agree that the Barnack Leicas are given short shrift by the current generation of photographers. My favorite camera is a  Leica IIIC that I recovered and rebuilt out of a scrapbook of parts. It is small, very sturdy, takes all but the latest Leica lenses and uses no batteries. It will do anything I need in B&W. Besides I get a lot of attention when I use it. It is a truly great camera.

But I confess that I have succumbed to the lure of the Micro 4/3 format for convenience. I found that all my old Leica lenses could be made to fit on an Olympus digital Pen camera and work exceptionally well. The total cost is less than one tenth that of a full frame digital Leica and the  pictures almost as good. At the 16x20 size I usually submit to photo shows, no one can tell the difference. Here is a Leica lens mounted on an Oly EPL-1.
