[Leica] Snapshot Profile mode

Thanks for your comments Philippe. Much appreciated, as I'm new to the list and to the Leica M-E.
I hoped my questions would be easy for folks on the list. John now says it's "impossible to give definite answers."
Question 1: In the Snapshot Profile mode does the camera only shoot JPEGs? Yes or no? That's pretty definite. Anyone know?

Question 2: Is there a risk of accidentally switching on the Snapshot Profile mode? Yes or no? Has it happened to anyone on the list?

Question 3: Is there a way of making sure the Snapshot Profile mode can't be switched on accidentally? Can it be permanently disabled? Yes or no? Anybody know?
Thanks,Bob

Impossible to give definitive answers as we all work differently, not aware of anybody on this list accidently getting their M9 into snapshot mode.... In fact, as there are (thankfully) so few options I doubt many use more than a single profile, if that.....

John,
Your comments suggest you're not exactly best placed to offer conclusive answers! It would be good if others with personal knowledge and experience of the issue could respond.
I'm disappointed to find a Leica camera accommodating a feature like the Snapshot Profile mode. It would damage my photography, but seems easy to slip into accidentally. Can it be permanently disabled?

If it is similar to the M9 (never used an M-E) then there should be no danger of entering snapshot mode, never done it in nearly six years of M9 ownership ;-)

1) Never felt the urge to find out what it does....
2) Doubt it
3) Never needed it

Hi John,
Thanks for the link, unfortunately the thread is rather confused and the concluding comments not very re-assuring. I don't feel my 3 questions have been answered, I hope others on the list will be able to help. Thanks,Bob

Subject: [Leica] Snapshot Profile mode

Hello list,
I've just started using a digital Leica, the M-E. My questions are about the Snapshot Profile mode, which I'd personally like to have as little to do with as possible!
1) In the Snapshot Profile mode does the camera only shoot JPEGs?
2) Is there a risk of accidentally switching on the Snapshot Profile mode?
3) Is there a way of making sure the Snapshot Profile mode can't be switched on accidentally? Can it be permanently disabled?
Thanks,Bob
