Thanks Douglas, we did a loop (D735 and D201)  of the island roads but did n0t go out to the lighthouse. Also was not quite the desired for weather for visiting ;-)

The image of  the bridge to l'Ile de Ré looks very good, but your Caravaggesque depiction of your mother's adoitness with smoke rings looks better.

Did you visit the island as I have looked across at it way back, but never made the trip. Watching "Cycling with Moliere" a couple of years ago gave me the urge again.
