[Leica] M9 reliability question

To be honest, I think I am too anal in getting  "proper" focus.  It is also hard to get even close to "proper" focus with lenses wider than 35 at F4 even, which I more commonly use. 
I guess a reasonable alternative is to always shoot wide open and auto-iso, as you suggest. The 90 and 135 are considerably easier. 

I never thought I would say this... The use of a RF camera has some real advantages....

No, from a fuji user, why not try using auto iso and auto shutter - just focus roughly at 5.6 and be there :-)
