Close to Rome, easy drive, if memory serves northish, is Orvietto. 
Interesting town with interesting history, very photogenic.

Heading to Italy in Jan 2017. Focusing mainly on the eastern and southern 
areas just a couple hours outside of Rome. Train travel and perhaps a rental 
car for a couple days. 6 days max so I don't want to travel all over. 
Anyone have any suggestions on small towns not to miss while I'm there?
