You may be sure, but you may also be wrong ;-) However I am in control of my cameras, nothing is set to auto (other than WB)  and I do not seem to suffer for that....

I'm sure you are a photographer who is always in control of every exposure, but I'm not.  I had just come in from extremely bright sun and was sitting on a carpet in the dark where I could not move, talking to people I had never met in a language I could not understand.  I've done all of that many times but I also had a new camera with automatic settings that I depended on.  I had the Auto ISO set and it stayed at 50.  When I realized that, I changed it to a higher ISO.  All of the first photos are made at 50 ISO and I was hoping to rescue them some way.  I'm not too disappointed in the results I got considering the circumstances.
